Andrew Binnell

Andrew Binnell was the successful headteacher of two Church of England primary (VA) schools, leading the latter to make the journey from ‘serious weaknesses’ to ‘outstanding’ (2006 Ofsted inspection) over a 6 year period. He founded Impetus Education Solutions 10 years ago and now leads the team. Andrew is also a registered church school inspector and has led over 55 inspections.

Andrew’s key skills and expertise include: supporting schools on their journey from ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’, SIAMS / Section 48 Inspector / External Adviser, Developing senior leadership teams, middle leaders, and governors, Pupil achievement and curriculum, Headteacher performance management.


Carol Jones OBE

Carol Jones has been a headteacher of an inner-city, C of E Primary School, the lead headteacher for a group of primary schools in challenging circumstances, a school inspector, school improvement partner and local authority assistant director. She is currently working with a range of schools in England and Wales, advising and supporting them to improve outcomes.


Malcolm Strang

Malcolm Strang has over 38 years teaching experience including 25 years as a primary Headteacher in Gloucestershire.  Prior to headship, he taught in Hampshire and Surrey during which time he was seconded to the DfE Task Group for Assessment and Training before returning to Gloucestershire where he was also Primary Adviser and Local Leader in Education.  He has worked as an assigned inspector for Ofsted and is currently an Academy Development Partner for DGAT.


Wendy Ward

Wendy Ward has a broad range of experience both within schools and beyond. She has had 25 years of experience in teaching, working in six very different schools, and ultimately becoming a headteacher. Wendy also has many years experience as a primary school adviser, and occasional Ofsted Inspector, supporting schools in Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Bristol and Birmingham. Following retirement from her role as a senior adviser in Gloucestershire, she has continued to work part-time as an educational consultant. She currently supports schools in Bristol as a School Improvement Officer (SIO), in DGAT as an Academy Development Partner (ADP) and as an independent consultant with a number of other schools.
