Hatherley Infant School and Nursery (Academy Status) is a warm and welcoming school situated in the city of Gloucester. The school is highly inclusive so that everyone feels a valued member of the school community. It is currently a two-form entry with a nursery on site.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher to be part of our dedicated and caring team within EYFS. Our children are polite, caring and very welcoming. Our staff are friendly, hardworking and dedicated as are our supportive parents and governors.

This is a part-time role for 3 days per week (FTE 0.6). The working days will be Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Ideally we would like the successful candidate to start on Wednesday 17th June. However, for the right candidate we would be happy to consider a September start.

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who shares our school vision of ‘With love and faith we aspire and achieve.’ You will work under the instruction and guidance of teaching and senior staff. Within this role, you will undertake work/care/support programmes to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the class teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. You will work with the wider school staff, local community and parents to ensure the development and education of pupils including those who have special educational, physical, and emotional needs.
This is an exciting and varied role and would be suitable for those who are thinking about pursuing a teaching career or have previous experience within a similar setting. Although previous experience is desirable, an enthusiastic personality and a passion for the job is paramount.

The post is offered as a salary at Grade 3.

The EHCP Teaching Assistant hours will be Monday to Friday, 9am – 12pm, term time only. This post is a fixed term contract linked to the child you will be supporting, therefore if the child’s level of support changes or the child leaves the school the contract will be amended accordingly.

The successful candidate will:
· Have the ability to build supportive relationships with children providing the necessary guidance and instruction to help the child you will be working with grow towards achieving their full potential
· Be patient and have a positive attitude
· Have strong behaviour management skills and a variety of behaviour management strategies
· Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to support the child’s needs
· Be enthusiastic and willing to contribute to the busy life of the school
· Experience of working with children who have cognition and learning needs
· Have flexibility around working hours
· Be supportive of the Christian ethos of the school

The post is offered as a salary of Grade 3 (Point 4-6) on a fixed term basis and is suitable for ECT’s.
